Who can I live with?
At Best of Homecare, we understand that everyone has unique preferences when it comes to choosing their living arrangements. With our Individualised Living Options (ILO) service, you have the freedom to decide who you live with. Here are some possibilities:
Living with a Host
You might prefer to live in the home of a host, such as a family or a non-related person who offers a welcoming and supportive environment. Hosts can provide companionship, a home-like atmosphere, and an agreed level of support. Through your NDIS plan, hosts can be reimbursed for providing in-home supports tailored to your needs.
Living with Housemates
You can choose to live with one or more housemates who can provide support or companionship. This could include friends, family members, or even an intimate partner. With the right arrangement, your NDIS plan may help reduce your housemates’ rental costs, making shared living more affordable and collaborative.
Living Alone
If you’d like to live on your own, we can help you make it happen. Whether you rely on family, friends, or neighbours for occasional assistance, we can help arrange a package of flexible drop-in supports to ensure you remain safe, comfortable, and independent in your own space.

Best Of Homecare
At Best of Homecare, our Individualised Living Options (ILO) service is designed to guide you through two key stages, ensuring your living arrangements reflect your unique needs and preferences.
The journey begins here. We collaborate closely with you and your support network to determine:
Stage 1
Exploration and Design
• Who you want to live with
• The supports you’ll need in your new home
• Who you’d like to provide those supports
Together, we design a plan tailored to your goals. This includes the type of living arrangements you desire and the supports required, even accounting for informal support from friends and family. The Exploration and Design stage lays the foundation for your ideal living environment.
This stage typically takes between 3 to 12 months, during which we’ll work with you to submit an ILO Service Proposal to the NDIA for approval. It can be funded through your NDIS plan, either under core supports or capacity-building support coordination funding, allowing you to explore your home and living preferences thoroughly.
Stage 2
Supports and Monitoring
Once your ILO Service Proposal is approved, we’ll implement the plan and help you settle comfortably into your new home.Our team will be there every step of the way, providing ongoing support and regularly checking in to ensure everything is working as planned.
If adjustments are needed, we’ll work with you to make the necessary changes, ensuring your living arrangements continue to meet your needs.
