BHC!
Welcomes the City of Casey
on the Business Awards Winners Tour
BHC was thrilled to recently host representatives from the City of Casey as part of the Casey Business Awards Winners Tour, made possible by the City’s Economic Development team. The visit provided a wonderful opportunity to showcase our work and share the passion, energy, and dedication of our team with the wider community.
We were delighted to welcome Tori Child (Senior Economic Development Officer), Glenn Patterson (CEO), Kathryn Seirlis (Director City Planning and Infrastructure), and Michael Ford (Manager Growth and Investment) for an informal tour of our premises. During the visit, they met a few of our team members and learned more about how BHC supports our clients and the broader community.
The visit was also a great opportunity to acknowledge the incredible people who make BHC what it is. We deeply appreciate our dedicated team members, our clients, their families, and the wider stakeholders who place their trust in us. The difference we make every day is only possible because of the collaboration, care, and commitment of everyone involved. Moments like these remind us of the shared passion that drives positive change in our community.

Celebrating Excellence in Healthcare
We are proud to share a significant milestone for Best of Homecare, as Director Anand Tom was honoured with the Innovation and Improvement Award at the Santhom Healthcare Awards 2026.

From Care to Impact — A Moment of Honour
The award was presented by Mary-Anne Thomas, Minister for Health, Ambulance Services and Women of Victoria, recognising excellence at the highest level of Victoria’s healthcare sector.
The occasion was further honoured by the presence of Lee Tarlamis, Member of Parliament for
South-Eastern Metropolitan Region, and Pauline Richards, State Member for Cranbourne and Government Whip in the Legislative Assembly.
This recognition highlights impactful contributions in healthcare innovation and continuous improvement, particularly within the disability and aged care sector, where quality, safety, and
person-centred support remain at the core of everything we do.
We are honoured to receive this recognition and remain committed to driving innovation and delivering meaningful outcomes for the communities we serve.

BHC Christmas Celebrations 2025
BHC’s 2025 Christmas celebration was a spectacular success, bringing together participants and staff for a day full of laughter, entertainment, and festive cheer. The event was a true showcase of talent, community, and holiday spirit, and reminded us that BHC participants have truly amazing talents!

A day of connection, celebration, and Christmas joy.
The crowd was treated to an array of incredible performances. Johnny amazed everyone with a spectacular dance routine, followed by a lively performance from Victoria Dance. Cherisse entertained the audience with several beautiful songs, while Bhavesh wowed the crowd with an energetic movement performance that had everyone smiling and cheering. The BHC team themselves also delighted attendees with a choir and a spirited dance performance.

Our dedicated team, along with participants, made the day truly memorable. Everyone enjoyed getting to know each other, sharing stories, and celebrating the moment together. Later, the festivities concluded with a delicious Christmas lunch, rounding off a day filled with connection, joy, and community spirit.
This event was a real team effort, and we sincerely thank all our staff and participants for their presence, energy, and contributions. Moments like these remind us why BHC is such a special community—full of talent, laughter, and shared celebration.

Day Centre Update – Term 1 Highlights
What a fantastic start to the year it has been at our Day Centre!
We kicked off the year by celebrating New Year’s Eve with a fun BBQ, bringing everyone together to welcome 2026. Soon after, we enjoyed Shrove Tuesday with a wonderful Pancake Day celebration alongside our clients.

Celebrating Connection and Community
In February, we proudly launched the BHC Ten Pin Bowling Club, where our enthusiastic bowlers enjoy a couple of games each session. It’s become a great social outing filled with encouragement, teamwork, and outstanding sportsmanship.

March brought more celebrations as we marked the birthdays of some of our dedicated support workers with cake and song, creating joyful moments for everyone involved.
Our garden is now fully prepared for the winter season. With pumpkins already growing beautifully, we are looking forward to enjoying fresh homemade pumpkin soup soon. We welcome everyone to visit the farm and take part in planting winter vegetables, with garden beds ready for your choice.
With Easter approaching, the centre is buzzing with activity. Clients are currently enjoying festive preparations, including cookie decorating, and we look forward to sharing photos of these creative moments.
Looking ahead, April will be another exciting month. We are planning our first major outing of the year to Werribee Zoo. The trip on Tuesday, 14th is fully booked, while a few spots are still available for Friday, 24th May. Be sure to let us know if you would like to join us!

Aged Care Update:
Your Rights and Choices in Care
The aged care system continues to focus on strengthening the rights of people receiving support. Recent updates place greater emphasis on ensuring individuals are treated with dignity, respect, and choice in all aspects of their care. These changes aim to ensure that everyone receiving aged care feels valued, heard, and supported throughout their care journey.
People receiving aged care services should have a clear understanding of their care plan, services, and provider arrangements, and feel confident to ask questions or request changes when needed. Open communication between clients, families, and providers plays an important role in ensuring care remains responsive and aligned with individual needs and preferences.
At Best of Homecare (BHC), we support a person-centred approach where every client has a voice in their care journey. Our team works closely with clients and families to ensure services are flexible, responsive, and aligned with what matters most to them. If you have any questions about your services or would like to review your support plan, please reach out to your BHC Care Partner or Coordinator.
Thank You !
