One of our latest community highlights is our free coffee campaign — great coffee, on us, for everyone. Every Monday and Friday, a participant takes the lead on our coffee van, preparing coffees under the supervision of a staff member who is a certified barista.
It's open to everyone — pop in any time during the hours below and enjoy a free coffee, no bookings needed.
A short note from BHC on the changes, updates and priorities shaping the way we continue to support participants, families and staff.
Below are the main updates participants, families and staff should be aware of, presented in a shorter and easier-to-read format.
The new NDIS Pricing Arrangements and Price Limits came into effect. If pricing or service agreement changes are required, BHC will discuss these with participants and obtain agreement before changes are implemented.
Participants with new or reassessed plans may notice funding periods, designed to help manage budgets across the life of their plan.
The updated definition of an NDIS support provides greater clarity about the supports and services that can be funded through the Scheme.
New NDIS support-needs assessments are expected to begin as part of the new planning approach. BHC will continue monitoring these developments and support participants through plan changes.
New SIL providers must be registered with the NDIS Commission from 1 July 2026. Existing unregistered providers must apply for registration by 1 October 2026.
These changes aim to strengthen service quality, worker screening and accountability.
Ongoing education, clinical supervision and specialised training in medication support, diabetes management, behaviour support, restrictive practices and incident reporting.
Enhancing digital systems to improve care documentation, progress notes and service monitoring.
Expanding SIL, SDA, respite, community access and in-home support services across Victoria.
BHC will continue working closely with participants, families, guardians, support coordinators and allied health professionals to deliver high-quality, person-centred supports. Learn more about SIL & SDA ↗
Consumer Advisory Bodies are an important way for older people to have a real say in the care and services they receive. Consumer Advisory Bodies (CABs) help make sure the voices of older people, families and carers are heard when providers make decisions about service delivery and improvements.
Older people can share feedback, raise concerns and speak about what matters most in their day-to-day care.
Advisory bodies give consumers and carers a structured way to contribute ideas about how care and support can be improved.
Advisory bodies support more person-centred care and help providers become more responsive, transparent and accountable.
Consumer Advisory Bodies give older people a meaningful voice in shaping the services they receive, promoting person-centred care and ensuring their views are considered in decision-making.
Personal Care will come under clinical care and will no longer have contributions attached.
The new Price Guide has been delayed indefinitely, and at this stage there is no confirmed date for when it will be introduced.

Catherine — Participant
A spotlight on Catherine’s interests, favourite activities, and the things she enjoys most that bring her joy and connection.
This month we are shining a light on Amro, one of our dedicated Support Workers who brings care, flexibility and a strong focus on client independence to every shift.
What motivates me most is seeing every small step a client takes toward independence become a meaningful achievement.
Whether it is starting a new job, becoming more involved in the community or trying something new, I enjoy seeing clients grow in confidence and feel proud of what they have achieved.
What I love most is celebrating each step a client takes toward greater independence, confidence and participation in the community.
I would like to create a practical program where clients choose recipes, plan a budget, shop for ingredients and prepare a complete meal together from start to finish.
I value the flexibility and teamwork at BHC. Being able to work with others and see clients grow in confidence is what makes this role meaningful to me.
